Description: Manages the AI194 Ethernet hub, providing port status, collision statistics, and repeater management objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AI194HUB-MIB?

AI194HUB-MIB is a vendor MIB for the AI194 Ethernet hub/repeater, a legacy shared-media Ethernet device that manages multiple twisted-pair and non-twisted-pair ports. It exposes per-port configuration and statistics: admin state, auto-partition (fault-isolation) state, error counts, collision counts, link errors, and overall port status, alongside port-count summaries for each media type. Its monitoring value is entirely about port/hardware health on a shared Ethernet segment -- rising collisions or errors on a port reveal a faulty NIC, cable, or duplex mismatch, and the auto-partition state shows whether the hub has already isolated a misbehaving port to protect the rest of the segment. No dependency on other standard MIBs (such as the IETF Repeater MIB, RFC 1516) is confirmed from the available text, though the object model covers similar repeater-management ground. It is deployed on legacy AI194 Ethernet hub/repeater hardware in shared-media LAN segments where administrators need visibility into per-port error and collision activity, which the AI194HUB-MIB MIB provides via SNMP polling.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AI194HUB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • AI194 Ethernet hub/repeater

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll aiHubPortTable, indexed by aiHubPortIndex, to check aiHubPortAdminState and aiHubPortStatus and confirm a given port is enabled and up. Rising aiHubPortCollisions and aiHubPortErrors/aiHubPortLinkErrors on one port would point to a faulty NIC, bad cable, or duplex mismatch on that segment. Checking aiHubPortAutoPartitionState would show whether the hub has automatically partitioned (isolated) a misbehaving port after too many collisions, protecting the rest of the shared Ethernet segment.

What Can Be Monitored

  • twisted-pair and non-twisted-pair port counts
  • per-port admin state and link status
  • per-port auto-partition (fault isolation) state
  • per-port error and collision counts
  • per-port link errors
