What Is ADMIN-MASTER-MIB?

ADMIN-MASTER-MIB is a private enterprise MIB module that defines the OID root and product registration tree for Admin Systems, Inc., a vendor whose product branches (based on the sample OID names) span data communications, transmission, and wire-line access technologies including VDSL. It functions purely as a registration/structure module, establishing named sub-branches like dataCom, transmission, wireCom, vdsl, and switch under which the vendor's actual product-specific MIB modules attach their runtime objects. Because it carries no scalar or table data itself, it has no direct role in reporting uptime, temperature, or fault status - any hardware or software health monitoring happens in the product MIBs that register beneath this tree, most plausibly VDSL/access and switching hardware given the branch names present. It has an inherent dependency relationship with every downstream Admin Systems product MIB, since they cannot register without this root being defined. The ADMIN-MASTER-MIB reference tree exists solely so that Admin Systems' product-specific modules have a namespace to register under, not to expose any monitorable values itself. It is deployed wherever Admin Systems, Inc. networking/access equipment (implied VDSL and switching gear) is managed, serving only as the vendor's OID namespace anchor.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADMIN-MASTER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Admin Systems, Inc. networking equipment (implied VDSL access and switching products)

Monitoring Examples

The sample objects present (dataCom, transmission, wireCom, vdsl, gbn, switch) are registration branch names, not runtime data objects - they simply define where the vendor's VDSL and switching product MIBs attach in the OID tree. No polling scenario applies to this module itself; actual monitoring (e.g., of a VDSL line or switch port) would occur against the specific product MIBs registered under the vdsl or switch branches.
