Category: Device Management

Description: Handles the Alteon/Radware virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC), exposing objects for managing virtual services and pools.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ADMIN-ALTEON-AC-vADC-MIB?

ADMIN-ALTEON-AC-vADC-MIB manages the Alteon/Radware virtual Application Delivery Controller (vADC) AdminContext, a partitioned/virtualized ADC instance running on Alteon OS load-balancing/application-delivery appliances. It exposes configuration and current-state data for each virtual ADC instance, including VLAN assignment, name, compute-unit (CU) allocation, resource limit, and feature flags such as global/bandwidth-management (BWM) enablement. Monitoring use centers on confirming each vADC partition's configuration and operational state (vADCCurCfgState) are as expected, effectively checking the software/configuration health of a multi-tenant ADC deployment where mis-provisioned VLANs or resource limits would affect application delivery for a tenant. It is an extension of the broader Alteon OS/AdminContext MIB family and depends on that platform's virtualization model for vADC partitioning. It is deployed on Alteon (Radware)-based Application Delivery Controllers running in multi-tenant or virtualized-instance mode, such as service-provider or large-enterprise load-balancing environments. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the ADMIN-ALTEON-AC-vADC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADMIN-ALTEON-AC-vADC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alteon/Radware Application Delivery Controller (virtual ADC/AdminContext)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll vADCCurCfgTable entries — indexed by vADCCurCfgVADCId — to read vADCCurCfgVlanId, vADCCurCfgName, vADCCurCfgCU, vADCCurCfgLimit, and vADCCurCfgState for each virtual ADC instance, alongside vADCMaxVADCId and vADCMaxCU to understand platform capacity. If vADCCurCfgState shows a partition as down or vADCCurCfgLimit is being approached, that flags a specific tenant's virtual ADC as misconfigured or resource-constrained, helping distinguish a single-tenant application delivery problem from a platform-wide fault.

What Can Be Monitored

  • virtual ADC configuration state
  • VLAN assignment per vADC
  • compute unit (CU) allocation
  • resource limit per vADC
  • feature enablement (global/BWM)
