What Is ACC-XBR?

ACC-XBR is an enterprise MIB for ACC/Ericsson routers covering transparent bridging (XBR) parameters used for bridged WAN and LAN interface operation. It exposes configuration objects for enabling and tuning transparent bridging across router interfaces, such as which interfaces participate in a bridge group and associated bridging parameters. Its monitoring value is largely in confirming bridging is correctly configured and active on the intended interfaces, and, where counters exist, tracking bridged-frame forwarding activity as a proxy for interface/software health. It would typically be used alongside a standard bridge MIB (BRIDGE-MIB) and interface MIB (IF-MIB) for complete bridge and interface state visibility. It is deployed on ACC/Ericsson routers used to transparently bridge LAN traffic over a WAN link, such as connecting two remote LAN segments. Engineers can download the ACC-XBR file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACC-XBR. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • bridge group interface membership
  • transparent bridging configuration parameters
  • bridged frame forwarding activity

Supported Devices

  • ACC/Ericsson router (bridged WAN/LAN)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks the bridge-group interface configuration to confirm both the LAN and WAN interfaces are correctly enrolled in the transparent bridge, and monitors forwarded-frame counters, where present, to confirm traffic is passing between the two bridged segments. If frames aren't being forwarded despite correct configuration, that suggests a spanning-tree block or a WAN-side link problem rather than a bridging misconfiguration.
