Description: The global shelf index. This index can be used by tables that index by shelf and slot eliminating the need for shelf and slot columns in the table.
What is zhoneShelfIndex?
This object holds the global shelf index number, from 1 to 255, used to identify a specific chassis shelf, letting other tables that need to reference shelf-and-slot locations index by shelf and slot rather than repeating separate shelf and slot columns in every table. An administrator reads this value when correlating a card or port's location across multiple tables that share this common shelf/slot indexing scheme. For example, zhoneShelfIndex returning 2 identifies the second physical shelf in a multi-shelf Zhone chassis deployment.
