What Is ZYXEL-STATIC-ROUTE-MIB?

ZYXEL-STATIC-ROUTE-MIB is a ZyXEL Communications private enterprise MIB, sitting under the esMgmt subtree, that manages manually configured IPv4 static routes on ZyXEL switches and routers. Its core structure is the zyxelStaticRouteTable, indexed by destination address, subnet mask, and gateway, with row objects zyStaticRouteName (a short descriptive label), zyStaticRouteMetric (hop-count cost, 1-15), and zyStaticRouteRowStatus for creating and deleting entries via SNMP. zyStaticRouteMaxNumberOfRoutes reports the platform's maximum supported static route count, a useful capacity-planning check. Monitoring Examples

An operator walks zyxelStaticRouteTable and checks zyStaticRouteRowStatus for a route to a remote subnet; if the row shows notInService or is missing entirely while zyStaticRouteMaxNumberOfRoutes indicates free capacity, it signals the static route was never activated or was silently removed, which explains traffic falling back to the default gateway.
