What Is ZXR10-NAT-MIB?
ZXR10-NAT-MIB is a ZTE proprietary SNMP module for the ZXR10 platform that manages Network Address Translation (NAT), including rule definitions, address pools, session tables, and translation statistics. It exposes both configuration data (NAT enable state, rules, address pools) and performance/session data (active translation sessions, translation counters), making it useful for monitoring the software resource status of the NAT subsystem. Specifically, it lets an operator track whether NAT is enabled, how many translation sessions are active relative to pool/session capacity, and translation throughput, which helps detect address-pool exhaustion or session-table pressure that would otherwise cause silent connection failures for subscribers. It is a self-contained management MIB but is commonly used alongside interface and ACL MIBs to correlate NAT policy with specific ports or traffic-classification rules. It is deployed on ZTE ZXR10 routers performing carrier-grade or edge NAT for IPv4 address conservation, where ZXR10-NAT-MIB SNMP monitoring helps operators catch pool exhaustion before subscribers are affected.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-NAT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 router
Monitoring Examples
No detailed object names were captured beyond the general mention of a NAT enable switch, so a specific table cannot be honestly cited; in practice an operator would poll the NAT enable state, address pool utilization, and session table size to confirm translation is active and pools are not exhausted, noticing a subscriber-impacting problem if active sessions approach the pool's maximum capacity.
What Can Be Monitored
- NAT enable/disable state
- address pool utilization
- active translation session count
- translation statistics/throughput
