What Is ZXR10-MSTP-MIB?
ZXR10-MSTP-MIB is a ZTE proprietary SNMP module (documented against ZXROSNG 30R2) for the ZXR10 platform that manages the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), including region name and revision, instance-to-VLAN mapping, and per-port spanning-tree state. It exposes configuration data (region identity, VLAN-to-instance mapping) alongside operational state data describing each port's spanning-tree role and forwarding/blocking status. This MIB is important for monitoring the software/Layer-2 topology health of the device, since it reveals whether ports are correctly forwarding, blocking, or in a transitional state, helping detect loops, misconfigured regions, or unexpected topology changes before they cause outages. As an MSTP implementation it is closely related to and typically deployed alongside standard bridge/STP MIBs (e.g., IETF BRIDGE-MIB) for a complete spanning-tree picture. It is deployed on ZTE ZXR10 switches in enterprise or access networks using MSTP for Layer 2 loop prevention and per-VLAN load balancing across redundant links. Engineers can download the ZXR10-MSTP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-MSTP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 switch/router
Monitoring Examples
No object names were captured for this MIB, so a specific table cannot be honestly cited; in practice an operator would poll the per-port spanning-tree state and instance-to-VLAN mapping tables to confirm expected ports are forwarding and others blocking as designed, noticing a Layer 2 loop or outage risk if a port unexpectedly transitions to forwarding on an instance where it should be blocking.
What Can Be Monitored
- MSTP region name and revision
- instance-to-VLAN mapping
- per-port spanning-tree state (forwarding/blocking)
- topology change events
