Description: Monitors ZTE ZXR10 multicast forwarding state, group membership, and multicast traffic flow statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ZXR10-MC-MONITOR-MIB?
ZXR10-MC-MONITOR-MIB is a ZTE-proprietary MIB for the ZXR10 router/switch platform that provides visibility into IP multicast forwarding state, specifically multicast route (mroute) entries and group membership. It exposes a multicast monitor interface object and an mroute table detailing source IP address, destination group IP address, forwarding destination state, and the interface each multicast flow is using. Its monitoring purpose is operational/software status of the multicast forwarding plane: administrators can verify multicast streams are being replicated to the correct interfaces and detect stalled or incorrectly pruned multicast groups, critical for IPTV or multicast-video deployments. It is a ZTE-private extension not formally layered on the IETF IP-MULTICAST-MIB, though it models similar mroute concepts. It is deployed on ZTE ZXR10 series routers/switches in networks delivering IP multicast services such as IPTV, where ZXR10-MC-MONITOR-MIB SNMP monitoring gives operators direct visibility into the health of the multicast forwarding plane.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-MC-MONITOR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 router/switch
Monitoring Examples
An admin could poll zxr10McastMonitorMrouteTable/zxr10McastMonitorMrouteEntry to inspect zxr10McastMonitorMrouteSourceIPAddr and zxr10McastMonitorMrouteDestIPAddr pairs together with zxr10McastMonitorMrouteDestState to confirm a multicast group is actively forwarding rather than stuck in a pruned state. zxr10McastMonitorMrouteInterface shows which outgoing interface is carrying a given multicast flow, useful for tracing an IPTV channel that isn't reaching a particular access segment. zxr10McastMonitorInterface identifies the interface being monitored overall.
What Can Be Monitored
- multicast route (mroute) entries
- multicast source/destination IP pairs
- multicast forwarding state
- outgoing interface per multicast flow
