Description: Manages ZTE ZXR10 router Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM/802.3ah) OAM configuration and link monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZXR10-EFM-MIB?

ZXR10-EFM-MIB is a ZTE proprietary module for the ZXR10 family of carrier and enterprise routers/switches that implements management of the IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) Operations, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) protocol. It exposes configuration and status data for EFM OAM sessions on individual Ethernet interfaces, such as OAM mode, discovery state, and remote-peer OAM capability. Because EFM OAM operates at the physical/link layer, this MIB is directly useful for monitoring the operational health of Ethernet links, revealing link-layer faults, loopback conditions, and peer-discovery failures that point to hardware, transceiver, or cabling problems rather than routing issues. It implements the IEEE 802.3ah OAM standard within a ZTE-specific object tree rather than the generic IETF OAM MIB. It is typically deployed in metro Ethernet and access-network environments where ZXR10 devices terminate first-mile Ethernet links requiring continuous link-integrity supervision, and ZXR10-EFM-MIB SNMP monitoring gives operators early warning of first-mile link faults.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-EFM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE ZXR10 routers/switches

Monitoring Examples

No concrete sample objects were provided for this module (sample_objects is empty), so specific table/object names cannot be cited with confidence. Based on the module description, it would plausibly expose a per-interface EFM OAM table with fields for OAM operational mode, discovery state, and remote loopback status. An admin would poll such a table to detect an interface whose OAM discovery process has stalled or entered loopback unexpectedly, a strong indicator of a first-mile link or hardware fault.

What Can Be Monitored

  • EFM OAM session/discovery state
  • remote peer OAM capability
  • OAM loopback status
  • 802.3ah OAM operating mode per interface
