etherTxSingleCollisionFrames

Module: XYPLEX-ETHERNET-MIB

OID (symbolic): XYPLEX-ETHERNET-MIB::etherTxSingleCollisionFrames

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.33.11.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: A count of successfully transmitted frames on a particular interface for which transmission is inhibited by exactly one collision. A frame that is counted by an instance of this object is also counted by the corresponding instance of either the ifOutUcastPkts or ifOutNUcastPkts object and is not counted by the corresponding instance of the etherTxMultipleCollisionFrames object.

What is etherTxSingleCollisionFrames?

A read-only counter tracking successfully transmitted frames on this interface that were delayed by exactly one collision before getting through. This is a normal, expected occurrence on shared/half-duplex Ethernet segments, and tracking it separately from multiple-collision frames lets an admin gauge how congested the collision domain is; a frame counted here is also counted in the standard ifOutUcastPkts/ifOutNUcastPkts counters, but never double-counted in etherTxMultipleCollisionFrames. A moderate, steady rate of single-collision frames on a half-duplex hub-connected port is normal, but a sharp rise suggests increasing traffic load on that shared segment.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.33.11.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> XYPLEX-ETHERNET-MIB::etherTxSingleCollisionFrames

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.33.11.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> XYPLEX-ETHERNET-MIB::etherTxSingleCollisionFrames.1
