What Is XXX-MIB?
The XXX-MIB is FiberRoad's enterprise media-converter NMS MIB, registering FiberRoad's OID branch and defining base management objects for its media converter/optical transport network devices. It exposes chassis/shelf inventory (shelf number and shelf table), card slot counts for central-office and remote cards, and physical/environmental status objects for power supplies, fans, and temperature, alongside a dedicated alarm sub-tree. Its central purpose is hardware status monitoring: confirming both power supply units are healthy, verifying fan operation, tracking chassis temperature, and watching the alarm branch for active fault conditions across shelves and cards. It appears to be a fully self-contained enterprise MIB without explicit dependency on IETF standard MIBs. It would be deployed by network operators managing FiberRoad media converter shelves/chassis in access or transport network sites. Engineers can download the XXX-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
shelfTable/shelfEntry, keyed by shelfNum, would let an operator enumerate installed shelves and confirm shelfName assignments, while psuA, psuB, fan, and temperature objects let an admin verify redundant power supplies are both up, the fan is running, and chassis temperature is within range. A dropped psuB or a rising temperature reading would flag a hardware fault worth dispatching a technician for, and alarmMIB would surface any active alarm conditions tied to a given shelf or card (coCardNum/rmtCardNum).
