What Is XEROX-SERVICE-MONITORING-TC?

XEROX-SERVICE-MONITORING-TC is a Xerox XCMI textual-convention module that supplies shared data types for the companion XCMI Service Monitoring MIB, which handles basic configuration and active management of application services (such as print, scan, fax, or email) on Xerox network-accessible hosts and printers. Its type definitions cover service management operations/data, service detail class/type, job-confirmation support, image-quality classification, and login-credential source, describing categories of service and job state rather than exposing them directly. It carries no runtime data itself, but the conventions it defines underpin monitoring of device software/service status in the parent MIB, such as which application services are enabled and their operational state. It explicitly builds on IETF RFC 1565 (Network Services Monitoring MIB) and RFC 2790 (Host Resources MIB), plus ISO/OSI systems-management reference models cited in its description. It is used alongside Xerox multifunction printers/network hosts that expose XCMI-based service management, making the XEROX-SERVICE-MONITORING-TC MIB a necessary reference for interpreting those devices' service-state objects.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in XEROX-SERVICE-MONITORING-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Xerox network printer/multifunction device

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only textual conventions (service type, detail class, job-confirmation support, image-quality enumerations) and has no object instances of its own to poll; actual service enablement and job-confirmation status are reported by the companion XCMI Service Monitoring MIB that imports these types.
