xcmMediaConsumedRowStatus

Module: XEROX-JOB-MONITORING-MIB

OID (symbolic): XEROX-JOB-MONITORING-MIB::xcmMediaConsumedRowStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.253.8.59.17.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RowStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Manages the status of this conceptual row in the xcmMediaConsumedTable. When an accounting program has copied the data from this row into an accounting system, the accounting program should delete this row in order to indicate that this accounting information is no longer needed to be retained by the SNMP agent.

Since the accounting data may be of interest to end-users, the accounting program may want to wait for some period before deleting the row.

If the accounting table becomes filled up so that the agent is unable to add new entries, a device may either refuse to accept new jobs, so that the valuable revenue stream is not lost, or may remove the oldest entry in the display and add the new job's accounting data.

What is xcmMediaConsumedRowStatus?

This read-write RowStatus manages the lifecycle of a row in xcmMediaConsumedTable, which an accounting program should delete once it has copied the media-usage data into its own system, though it may wait a period since end users may also want to see this data. An admin's accounting-cleanup process deletes stale media-consumed rows to free up limited agent storage once the usage figures have been exported.
