All MIBs › X25G-MIB

Category: X.25 and Legacy WAN

Description: Manages X.25 gateway functions including virtual circuit configuration and packet-level statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is X25G-MIB?

X25G-MIB is a vendor MIB (the "usr"/"nas" object references suggest US Robotics/NAS-branded equipment) covering X.25 gateway hardware inventory and packet-level gateway function. It exposes a gateway identity table with hardware serial number, hardware revision, software revision, CPU type, installed RAM and flash memory, plus operational configuration status, self-test result, and management-connection state. Its monitoring emphasis is squarely on hardware/software status: confirming installed software revision, verifying RAM/flash inventory, and checking self-test result and operational configuration status to detect a failed diagnostic or a device that hasn't reached its expected operational state after boot. It appears to be a largely self-contained vendor MIB for X.25 gateway hardware/identity rather than one layered on IETF standards. It is deployed on dedicated X.25 protocol gateway/converter appliances bridging legacy X.25 networks with modern IP networks. Engineers can download the X25G-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in X25G-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • X.25 protocol gateway appliance

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll x25gwIdTable/x25gwIdEntry to read x25gwIdSoftwareRev and x25gwIdHardwareRev for version inventory, and check x25gwIdSelfTestResult and x25gwIdOperCfgSts to confirm the gateway passed power-on diagnostics and reached its intended operational configuration. A failing x25gwIdSelfTestResult or an x25gwIdOperCfgSts stuck in a non-operational state would indicate a hardware fault or configuration load failure preventing the gateway from passing traffic.

What Can Be Monitored

  • hardware serial number and revision
  • installed software revision
  • installed RAM and flash memory
  • self-test result
  • operational configuration status
  • management connection state
