Category: World Wide Packets Metro Ethernet

Description: Manages World Wide Packets VoIP configuration, SIP trunk settings, and voice quality monitoring statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is WWP-VOIP-MIB?

This World Wide Packets proprietary MIB configures and monitors Voice-over-IP functionality on WWP Metro Ethernet devices, covering SIP trunk configuration and voice-quality statistics. It exposes configuration data (SIP trunk settings, codec/dial-plan parameters) and performance data (voice quality metrics such as jitter and packet loss) for VoIP calls traversing or terminated by the device. This MIB supports software/service status monitoring specific to the VoIP feature: administrators can detect degraded call quality or a SIP trunk registration failure before end users report dropped or garbled calls. It builds on general SIP/RTP voice standards for its call model, though implemented as a proprietary schema. It is deployed on WWP Metro Ethernet access devices that provide integrated voice services alongside data transport, and the WWP-VOIP-MIB download is available for administrators to load into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-VOIP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • World Wide Packets Metro Ethernet access device (VoIP-enabled)

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this module in the source data. In general, a VoIP MIB of this kind exposes a SIP trunk status table and call-quality statistics such as jitter and packet loss, which an operator would poll to detect a trunk stuck in an unregistered state or a spike in jitter that correlates with user reports of choppy calls.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SIP trunk configuration/status
  • call voice quality statistics (jitter/loss)
  • active VoIP call state
  • codec/dial-plan configuration
