What Is WS-SW-SMI?
WS-SW-SMI is a Structure of Management Information (SMI) module from Symbol Technologies (a wireless LAN/barcode-scanning technology vendor later acquired by Motorola) defining the enterprise OID sub-tree used by Symbol's wireless switch product line. It contains no runtime data objects of its own—the module_desc is a placeholder and sample_objects is empty—so it is purely a naming/registration module rather than a source of monitorable status. Consequently it does not expose uptime, temperature, CPU load, or any other hardware/software health metrics directly; those are defined in the actual wireless switch MIB modules that register beneath this SMI branch.
