Category: Power and Environmental Monitoring
Description: Monitors Valere DC power system rectifiers, batteries, load current, and alarm conditions.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is VALERE-DC-POWER-MIB?
This is a vendor MIB from Valere Power for its DC power system product line, covering rectifiers, batteries, load current, and associated alarm conditions used in telecom power plants. It exposes rectifier and module inventory data, battery/load current readings, and a trap table used to notify an NMS of power alarm conditions. It is fundamentally a hardware health monitoring MIB - its purpose is to track rectifier operational status, power module inventory, and alarm/trap conditions that reveal a failing rectifier, low battery, or overload before it causes a site outage. It appears to be a self-contained enterprise MIB with no stated dependency on other standard MIBs beyond its own historical revisions, which added rectifier and module inventory tables over time. It is deployed in telecom central office and cell site environments where DC rectifier/battery plants power core network and radio equipment, and technicians can download the VALERE-DC-POWER-MIB file directly to load it into their SNMP management tools.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in VALERE-DC-POWER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Valere DC power systems / rectifier cabinets
- telecom power plant equipment
Monitoring Examples
Based on the module's revision history, a realistic scenario would poll the rectifier inventory table to confirm every rectifier module in the plant is present and healthy, and watch the vpwrTrapTable (formerly vpwrTrapDestinationTable) for alarm traps signaling a rectifier failure, battery discharge, or overload condition before it escalates into a power outage affecting downstream network equipment.
What Can Be Monitored
- rectifier operational status
- battery/load current
- power alarm conditions
- rectifier inventory
- module inventory

The table contains zero, one, or many rows at any moment, depending upon the number of alarm conditions in effect. The table is initially empty at agent startup. The agent creates a row in the table each time a condition is detected and deletes that row when that condition no longer pertains. The vpwrAlarmIndex, for each type of module starts at 1 and is limited by the total number of alarams that can be generated by the module. Alarms are named by an AutonomousType (OBJECT IDENTIFIER), vpwrAlarmDescr, to allow a single table to reflect alarms for different type of modules. The number of rows in the table at any given time is reflected by the value of vpwrAlarmsPresent. | |

RFC description
Valere DC power management MIB for rectifiers, batteries, inverters, and power system monitoring in telecommunications infrastructure.
Start monitoring Valere DC power systems / rectifier cabinets, telecom power plant equipment (rectifier/battery alarm status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
