Category: IP Routing and Multicast

Description: Manages TP-Link switch proxy ARP configuration enabling inter-subnet ARP resolution on interfaces.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TPLINK-PROXYARP-MIB?

TPLINK-PROXYARP-MIB is a TP-Link proprietary MIB configuring Proxy ARP, letting a switch answer ARP requests on behalf of hosts on a different subnet/VLAN. Its table, keyed by VLAN ID, records the proxied IP address, IP mask, interface name, and an enable flag. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm Proxy ARP is enabled with the correct address/mask for a given VLAN before relying on it to bridge two subnets without full routing. It is deployed on TP-Link managed switches. Engineers can download the TPLINK-PROXYARP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-PROXYARP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • TP-Link managed switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks tpProxyArpEnable and tpProxyArpIpMask for a VLAN to confirm Proxy ARP is correctly scoped before troubleshooting hosts on different subnets that can't reach each other.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Proxy ARP enable state and address/mask configuration
