Description: Manages TP-Link switch Power over Ethernet port power budgets, priority, and delivery status.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TPLINK-POWER-OVER-ETHERNET-MIB?

TPLINK-POWER-OVER-ETHERNET-MIB is a TP-Link proprietary module for configuring and monitoring Power over Ethernet (PoE) delivery on their PoE-capable switches. It exposes per-port PoE configuration such as power budget allocation, priority level, and power delivery status, along with switch-wide PoE power budget information. Its monitoring purpose is directly hardware health and power-status oriented: administrators track whether each port is successfully delivering power to a connected powered device (PD), whether the overall power budget is close to exhaustion, and whether priority settings correctly protect critical devices (like PoE cameras or phones) during a power shortage. It typically depends on the switch's base interface/port MIB for port identification alongside PoE-specific status. It is deployed on TP-Link PoE switches powering IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points where reliable power delivery and budget management are operationally critical. Engineers can download the TPLINK-POWER-OVER-ETHERNET-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-POWER-OVER-ETHERNET-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • TP-Link PoE-capable managed switch

Monitoring Examples

No sample object or table names were provided in the source for this module, so a concrete polling example naming specific objects cannot be honestly constructed here; in practice an administrator would be expected to poll per-port PoE power delivery status and priority objects along with the total power budget consumption, watching for a port reporting a power-denied or fault status, or overall budget utilization approaching its maximum, as signs that additional PoE devices cannot be safely powered.
