Description: Manages TP-Link switch port loopback detection configuration and automatic recovery actions.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TPLINK-PORTLOOPBACKDETECTION-MIB?
TPLINK-PORTLOOPBACKDETECTION-MIB is a TP-LINK proprietary MIB implementing port loopback detection, which identifies and blocks a port that is looped back to itself (directly or via another switch). Its objects cover a loopback-status-change notification, global detection enable/interval/recovery time, and a control table (port, state, process mode, recover mode, loop-state, block-state, LAG-state, recover-port). As a configuration/notification MIB it lets an administrator confirm which ports are blocked due to a detected loop and their auto-recovery settings on a TP-LINK switch. It is deployed on TP-LINK managed switches (loopback detection). Engineers can download the TPLINK-PORTLOOPBACKDETECTION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-PORTLOOPBACKDETECTION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- TP-LINK managed switches (loopback detection)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator receives a loopbackStatusChange notification and checks loopbackDetectionBlockState to confirm a looped port was blocked on a TP-LINK switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- port loopback detection and block/recovery status

RFC description
TP-Link proprietary MIB for monitoring loopback detection on network switches, providing SNMP objects and OIDs for retrieving loopback detection status and configuration information on TP-Link devices.
Start monitoring TP-LINK managed switches (loopback detection block/recovery status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
