Category: Link Layer and Ethernet Protocols

Description: Manages TP-Link switch Device Link Detection Protocol (DLDP) configuration and unidirectional link state.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TPLINK-DLDP-MIB?

TPLINK-DLDP-MIB is a TP-Link proprietary MIB implementing DLDP (Device Link Detection Protocol), which detects unidirectional fiber/copper links that Ethernet auto-negotiation alone can miss. Its objects cover a global enable flag, detection interval, shutdown-mode behavior, and a per-port control table recording DLDP state, protocol state, link state, and neighbor state. As a configuration/protocol-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm DLDP has correctly identified a link as bidirectional (or caught a unidirectional fault) before it causes a spanning-tree loop. It is deployed on TP-Link managed switches. Engineers can download the TPLINK-DLDP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-DLDP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • TP-Link managed switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks tpDldpLinkState and tpDldpNeighborState on a port suspected of a unidirectional fiber fault, since DLDP can detect this condition before it triggers a spanning-tree loop.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DLDP link/protocol/neighbor state per port
