What Is TIMETRA-SAS-IEEE8021-CFM-MIB?
This is a Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent proprietary SNMP MIB extending the standard IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) MIB with device-specific attributes for the 7210 SAS (Service Access Switch) product family. It exposes per-MEP (Maintenance End Point) extension data such as whether AIS (Alarm Indication Signal) is sent when a port goes down, and SAP tag control settings used within CFM maintenance domains. It is squarely aimed at monitoring the software status of Ethernet OAM fault detection: whether a MEP is configured to propagate AIS alerts on link failure, directly affecting fault-notification behavior seen by upstream/downstream network elements. It is an explicit extension of, and dependent on, the standard IEEE8021-CFM-MIB, so it cannot be interpreted without that base MIB's MEP table structure. It is deployed on Nokia 7210 SAS access/aggregation switches in carrier Ethernet networks using 802.1ag CFM for service-level fault management. Engineers can download the TIMETRA-SAS-IEEE8021-CFM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

An operator queries tmnxDot1agCfmMepExtnTable/tmnxDot1agCfmMepExtnEntry, joined to the standard dot1agCfmMepTable by MEP index, to check tmnxDot1agCfmMepSendAisOnPortDown — if unexpectedly disabled, a physical port outage on that MEP will not propagate an AIS fault upstream, delaying detection elsewhere in the network. tmnxDot1agCfmMepControlSapTag is checked to confirm VLAN tag handling is correctly configured for the CFM control SAP on that maintenance point.
