Description: The tmnxSonetMonS1Byte variable reports the Synchronization Status Message from the S1 byte in the Line Overhead Header. A value of 0x00 indicates unknown quality. A value of 0xF0 indicates `Do not use for synchronization`. Other values are documented in Telcordia GR253 and ITU G.707
What is tmnxSonetMonS1Byte?
This object monitors the Synchronization Status Message contained in the S1 byte of a SONET line overhead header, which indicates the synchronization quality of the optical signal. A value of 0x00 means unknown quality, 0xF0 means the signal should not be used for synchronization, and other values follow Telcordia and ITU standards. Operators check this value to verify that the optical facility is correctly synchronized and suitable for network timing.
