Module: TIMETRA-PORT-MIB
OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-PORT-MIB::tmnxSonetHoldTimeDown
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.2.4.5.1.26

Description: The value of tmnxSonetHoldTimeDown is used to configure the hold-timer for link down event dampening. This guards against reporting excessive interface transitions. This is implemented by not advertising subsequent transitions of the interface to upper layer protocols until the configured timer has expired. A value of zero (0) indicates that a down transition is reported immediately.
What is tmnxSonetHoldTimeDown?
This object configures whether a hold-timer is used to suppress reporting of SONET link-down events and guard against excessive interface transitions. When enabled (set to 1), down events are not advertised until the timer expires; when disabled (set to 0), transitions are reported immediately. An operator would enable this to reduce noise from flaky interfaces and prevent rapid failovers during brief link glitches.
