Description: Automatic Protection Switching (APS) is supported on 7x50 systems by the APS-MIB and TIMETRA-APS-MIB.
What is tmnxSonetApsHoldTime?
This object (now obsolete) set the hold-time duration for Automatic Protection Switching (APS) on SONET ports, determining how long the system waits before reverting to the primary circuit after a failure clears. An operator would adjust this to balance between circuit stability and fast recovery in redundant SONET links. This parameter is no longer used on modern 7x50 systems.
