Module: TIMETRA-PORT-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-PORT-MIB::tmnxCiscoHDLCKeepAliveInt

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.2.4.20.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-create

Description:

tmnxCiscoHDLCKeepAliveInt specifies the interval in seconds used for sending periodic keepalive packets. The default value is set to 10 seconds. A value of 0 specifies that the keepalive function is turned off.

It is expected that the nodes at the two endpoints of the Cisco HDLC link are provisioned with the same values.

What is tmnxCiscoHDLCKeepAliveInt?

This OID sets how often (in seconds) the network sends test packets to verify a Cisco HDLC link is still alive; 0 disables keepalive. Regular keepalive packets detect broken links quickly but use bandwidth. Network operators set this to match their network's tolerance—10 seconds for critical links, lower for flaky connections.
