This value specifies the direction a MEP created through this management table faces on the bridge port, mapping directly to the standard dot1agCfmMepDirection object; it applies to any MEP type covered by tmnxDot1agCfmMepMgmtType. An admin sets this to Up or Down MEP orientation, determining whether the MEP monitors traffic toward the bridge relay function or out toward the physical port. Getting the direction wrong is a common cause of a MEP that appears configured correctly but never detects faults on the intended path.
