Module: TIMETRA-IEEE8021-CFM-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-IEEE8021-CFM-MIB::tmnxDot1agCfmMcLagPropHoldTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.52.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The value of tmnxDot1agCfmMcLagPropHoldTime specifies the duration, in seconds, of a timer that is activated when an MC-LAG port or protocol changes state. While the timer is active, no fault set or clear is propagated to the MC-LAG SAP's CFM MEP.

The outstanding hold time can be monitored by polling the value of sapEthCfmMcLagPropHoldTimeRemain for a particular SAP. When set to the value zero (0), no delay in response to a port or protocol change will be observed.

This object is meaningful only when tmnxDot1agCfmMcLagStdbyInactive is set to the value 'enabled (1)', otherwise an SNMP Set operation will result in an inconsistentValue error and the result of an SNMP Get operation will be undefined.

What is tmnxDot1agCfmMcLagPropHoldTime?

This value specifies, in seconds (0 to 60), a hold timer activated when an MC-LAG port or protocol changes state, during which no fault set or clear is propagated to that SAP's CFM MEP; a value of 0 means no delay; it's only meaningful when tmnxDot1agCfmMcLagStdbyInactive is enabled, otherwise a set fails with inconsistentValue. An admin tunes this to avoid CFM flapping alarms during a brief MC-LAG state transition, at the cost of slightly delaying legitimate fault propagation during that window. The outstanding hold time can be checked in real time via the related sapEthCfmMcLagPropHoldTimeRemain object for a given SAP.
