Category: IP Routing

Description: Manages Tiara Networks WAN router IP routing configuration and forwarding statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TIARA-IP-MIB?

TIARA-IP-MIB is Tiara Networks' enterprise MIB for managing IP-addressable interfaces and static routing on its WAN router products. It exposes a table of IP interfaces with their addresses, masks, peer addresses, and types, plus a static routing table for manually configured routes, alongside a global IP routing enable flag. Its monitoring value is centered on IP-layer configuration and connectivity status: an operator can verify each interface's IP configuration is correct and confirm static routes are present and correctly indexed, which is essential for diagnosing routing or addressing misconfigurations. It complements standard interface-layer MIBs (like IF-MIB) by adding Tiara-specific IP addressing detail. It is typically deployed by operators managing Tiara Networks WAN routers where static/point-to-point IP routing configuration needs verification. Engineers can download the TIARA-IP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIARA-IP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Tiara Networks WAN router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll tiaraIpIfTable to review each entry's tiaraIpIfAddr, tiaraIpIfMask, and tiaraIpIfPeerAddr, confirming a WAN interface's IP addressing matches the intended point-to-point link configuration. Checking tiaraStaticRouteTable entries indexed by tiaraStaticRouteIndex against tiaraIpRoutingEnable would reveal whether a expected static route is missing or routing is globally disabled, explaining unreachable destinations. Mismatched tiaraIpIfType values across peer routers would similarly flag an interface-type misconfiguration causing a link to stay down.

What Can Be Monitored

  • IP interface address and mask
  • IP interface peer address and type
  • global IP routing enable status
  • static route table entries
