Description: Manages Terawave ATM access platform ILMI (Interim Local Management Interface) address registration and VCC status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TERAWAVE-ilmi-MIB?
TERAWAVE-ilmi-MIB implements the ATM Forum's ILMI (Interim Local Management Interface) for Terawave ATM/DSL access platforms, a telecom access-network vendor. It exposes ATM port-level configuration and status data, including port addressing, transmission and media type, operational status, and mapping to the device's own interface names and identifiers. It is used to monitor the hardware/physical-layer status of ATM ports — specifically whether a port's operational status is up or down, its transmission and media type, and its registered network address — which is central to diagnosing ATM link and physical connectivity faults. It is built directly on the ATM Forum ILMI standard (atmForum/atmForumUni), so it depends on that specification's object and addressing conventions rather than being purely proprietary. It is deployed on Terawave ATM access/DSL platforms in telco central-office or remote access network sites, where TERAWAVE-ilmi-MIB SNMP monitoring helps diagnose ATM link and physical connectivity faults.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TERAWAVE-ilmi-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Terawave ATM access/DSL platforms
Monitoring Examples
atmfPortTable and atmfPortTableEntry, indexed by atmfPortIndex, expose atmfPortOperStatus alongside atmfPortTransmissionType and atmfPortMediaType for each ATM port. An operator would poll atmfPortOperStatus across the table to detect a port transitioning to a down state, then cross-reference atmfPortMyIfName and atmfPortMyIfIdentifier to map that failure back to the corresponding logical interface for troubleshooting. atmfPortAddress and atmfMyIpNmAddress further help confirm ILMI address registration is intact after a link event.
What Can Be Monitored
- ATM port operational status
- port transmission type
- port media type
- registered port address
- interface name/identifier mapping
