Description: Defines Teldat router TLNT (Telnet) event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-TLNT-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-TLNT-MIB is a vendor-specific notification module from Teldat, a Spanish networking equipment manufacturer, focused solely on Telnet (TLNT) subsystem event traps. It does not expose a browsable object tree of gauges or counters; instead it defines a set of numbered trap notifications (tlnt1 through tlnt9) carrying generic status, memory, timer, error, and session-level information about the Telnet service running on the router. Its monitoring value is fault and status detection rather than continuous polling: the traps flag Telnet subsystem errors, memory conditions, and session events (operation, session ID, local/remote address) as they occur, useful for spotting management-access problems or abnormal Telnet session activity in near real time. As a NOTIFICATION-TYPE module it depends on the standard SNMPv2 notification framework and the vendor's TELDAT enterprise MIB tree for its object identifiers. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers where a network management station is configured to receive and log these traps for troubleshooting remote-access issues. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-TLNT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-TLNT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would configure the SNMP trap receiver to catch tlnt5-error-info, tlnt6-error-info, and tlnt7-error-info notifications, which signal that the Telnet daemon on the router encountered an internal error condition. The tlnt9-operation, tlnt9-session-id, tlnt9-local-address, and tlnt9-remote-address varbinds let the operator correlate a specific trap to the exact Telnet session and remote client involved, valuable when diagnosing repeated failed login attempts or unexpected session drops. The tlnt3-memory-info and tlnt4-timer-info traps can reveal memory pressure or timer expiry within the Telnet subsystem itself, an early warning sign before the management interface becomes unresponsive.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Telnet subsystem errors
  • Telnet session ID and operation
  • local and remote session addresses
  • Telnet memory info
  • Telnet timer info
