Description: Defines Teldat router NIC (network interface card) event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-NIC-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-NIC-MIB is a Teldat (Spanish router vendor) MIB defining SNMP notification objects generated by the network interface card (NIC) event subsystem on Teldat routers. It exposes trap-carried data describing NIC-related events across multiple interface slots, such as interface name, indication description/value, call status, dialer state, and error conditions. This MIB is fundamentally about monitoring hardware/interface fault events -- specifically NIC error conditions, dial call status changes, and interface-level indications -- alerting administrators in near real-time to interface card failures or dial-up link state changes rather than requiring active polling. It depends on the standard SNMP notification framework (SNMPv2-MIB / SNMP-NOTIFICATION-MIB conventions) that it extends with Teldat-specific NIC event varbinds. It is deployed on Teldat routers, commonly in branch or remote-access WAN environments using dial-up or ISDN-style NIC interfaces, where administrators need immediate notification of interface card faults and can download the TELDAT-TRAP-NIC-MIB file directly to load it into their trap-monitoring platform.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-NIC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat routers

Monitoring Examples

A monitoring system would receive traps from the nicNotifications group carrying varbinds like nic4-error and nic4-ifcname to identify which NIC interface reported an error condition, or nic3-callstat and nic3-dialer to see a dial-up call's status change on interface 3. Receiving a nic2-callstat trap indicating a dropped call alongside nic2-inddesc/nic2-indvalue details would let an operator immediately pinpoint a failed dial-up connection on NIC slot 2 without polling.

What Can Be Monitored

  • NIC interface error conditions
  • dial-up call status per NIC
  • interface indication description/value
  • interface name per NIC slot
