What Is TELDAT-TRAP-BRS-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-BRS-MIB is a Teldat router MIB dedicated to notifications from the BRS (bandwidth reservation) event subsystem, used for managing QoS-style bandwidth reservation classes on Teldat routers. It defines multiple numbered BRS notification groups (brs1 through brs5), each carrying attributes like protocol type, class name, interface, and for brs5 a countdown of ticks remaining on a reservation. This is a fault/event-monitoring MIB rather than a hardware-sensor MIB: it tells an operator when bandwidth reservation classes activate, change, or are about to expire on a given interface. It is a Teldat-specific trap module layered on the vendor's broader configuration MIBs for bandwidth/QoS management. It is deployed in Teldat router environments where bandwidth reservation is used to guarantee capacity for specific traffic classes across WAN interfaces, and a TELDAT-TRAP-BRS-MIB download is available for administrators who need to load it into their MIB browser.

An operator would subscribe to the brs5-class and brs5-interface trap variables together with brs5-ticks-left to see how much time remains before a bandwidth reservation on a given interface expires. A trap referencing brs1-class-name and brs1-interface with an unexpected protocol type in brs1-msg-prot-type would indicate a reservation event tied to unanticipated traffic on that interface, useful for auditing QoS class usage. The brsNotifications and brsEventsGroup objects group these traps for correlation in a network management system.
