Category: Teldat Router Management, Teldat Trap Notifications

Description: Defines Teldat router ACAT (access category) event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-ACAT-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-ACAT-MIB is a Teldat proprietary, notification-only SNMP MIB that defines the trap varbinds emitted by the router's ACAT (access category) event subsystem, an internal access-group/filtering feature. Rather than polled counters, it declares six numbered event definitions (acat1 through acat6, rolled up under acatEventsGroup/acatNotifications) carrying fields such as group index, enable state, module identifier, option index, register value, and interface. Operationally it exists purely for fault/event monitoring: it lets a management station learn asynchronously - as they happen - when an access-category group is enabled or disabled or when a per-interface option registers, functioning as a real-time software-state signal for this filtering feature rather than a continuously polled resource metric. As with Teldat's other TRAP-* modules it relies on the standard SNMPv2-SMI/SNMPv2-TC notification conventions and Teldat's private enterprise OID tree, and is normally loaded on a trap receiver alongside the corresponding configuration feature it reports on. It is deployed on Teldat routers where access-category/filtering policy changes need to be audited and alerted on centrally. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-ACAT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-ACAT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router

Monitoring Examples

This module defines only notification objects and their varbinds rather than a polled data table, so there is no ongoing GET-based monitoring scenario to describe; the honest characterization is that it is trap-only. An SNMP trap receiver instead subscribes to acatNotifications and, on receipt, inspects the accompanying varbinds - for example acat3-grp-index, acat3-iface, and acat3-register, or acat4-grp-index and acat4-state - to determine which access-category group changed, on which interface, and its resulting state.

What Can Be Monitored

  • access-category group enable/disable events
  • per-interface access-category registration state
  • access-category module identifier changes
