What Is SVRCLU-MIB?
SVRCLU-MIB is a general server-cluster management MIB used to represent the software state of a clustering solution running across a set of server nodes, rather than any single vendor's networking hardware. It exposes cluster identity and versioning information (MIB revision, cluster software vendor and version), the cluster's type, the identity of 'this member' node, the cluster name, and a table of cluster network addresses used for inter-node communication. Its monitoring emphasis is squarely on cluster software status: svrCluSoftwareStatus reports whether the clustering software itself is running/healthy, svrCluSoftwareVersion tracks which cluster software build is deployed, and svrCluThisMember plus the cluster address table let an operator confirm node membership and connectivity are correct - all central to detecting a node that has dropped out of the cluster or is running mismatched software. It is inherently tied to whatever underlying clustering technology it represents (e.g., a Microsoft Cluster Service-like HA framework), with svrCluExtensionOID allowing vendor-specific extensions layered on top of this base model.
