Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SONUS-DSP-RESOURCES-MIB?

SONUS-DSP-RESOURCES-MIB is a Sonus Networks, Inc. (later Ribbon Communications) proprietary MIB managing DSP (Digital Signal Processor) media-processing resources on Sonus softswitch/media-gateway platforms. Its admin table, keyed by shelf/slot/DSP index, records DSP type, channel count, max echo-tail length, echo-canceller audio type, EC signaling-tone/NLP disable-enable settings, jitter-evaluation period and minimum-occurrence threshold, residual-echo control, echo-return loss, modem-disable flag, and high-level compression, while a slot-statistics table records G.711-with-EC/G.711-total/HDLC-total channel counts. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm echo-cancellation and jitter-buffer tuning and watch DSP channel utilization by codec type on a Sonus media gateway. It is deployed on Sonus Networks (Ribbon Communications) softswitch/media-gateway platforms. Engineers can download the SONUS-DSP-RESOURCES-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SONUS-DSP-RESOURCES-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Sonus Networks (Ribbon Communications) softswitch/media-gateway platforms

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks sonusDspSlotStatG711Total and sonusDspAdmnMaxTail to confirm DSP channel utilization and echo-cancellation tail-length settings on a Sonus media gateway.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DSP resource configuration and per-slot channel utilization
