Description: Defines Dell SonicWall SSL-VPN product root OID structure for SSL-VPN MIB module organization.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SONICWALL-SSL?

SONICWALL-SSL is a minimal vendor-specific placeholder MIB from SonicWALL/Dell SonicWall that defines the sonicWALL enterprise OID arc (under enterprises.8714) and registers the sonicSEC MODULE-IDENTITY node used as the root for SonicWALL's SSL-VPN and broader security-appliance MIB tree. The module itself defines no OBJECT-TYPE leaves or tables — it exists purely to reserve and document the OID branch under which SonicWALL's actual SSL-VPN management objects (session tables, tunnel counters, user statistics) are registered in companion modules. Because it carries no managed objects, it has no direct monitoring value on its own; its role is structural, letting a MIB browser or NMS resolve the sonicWALL/sonicSEC OID prefix correctly when loading the vendor's other SonicWALL MIB modules. It's deployed alongside SonicWALL's actual SSL-VPN appliance MIBs, which depend on it for their root OID assignment, and administrators can download the SONICWALL-SSL file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SONICWALL-SSL. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dell SonicWall SSL-VPN appliances

Monitoring Examples

An operator loading a companion SonicWALL SSL-VPN MIB module into their NMS relies on SONICWALL-SSL to resolve the sonicWALL.sonicSEC OID prefix correctly; a missing or unloaded SONICWALL-SSL module would cause the NMS to display unresolved, numeric-only OIDs for every downstream SSL-VPN object instead of readable names.

What Can Be Monitored

  • enterprise OID root registration (no monitorable leaf objects itself)
  • module identity/versioning metadata
  • OID resolution prerequisite for companion SonicWALL SSL-VPN MIB modules
