Description: Manages Lantronix SLP1 smart power strip outlet switching, power metering, and environmental monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SLP1-MIB?

SLP1-MIB is Lantronix's proprietary MIB for the SecureLinx Power Manager (SLP), a smart, network-managed power distribution unit (PDU)/power strip used in data centers and equipment racks. It exposes objects for controlling and monitoring individual outlets (on/off/reboot state), power metering (current, voltage, load), and basic environmental readings from attached sensors. This MIB is squarely a hardware-status monitoring MIB: it lets administrators check outlet power state, detect overload or overcurrent conditions, and monitor environmental conditions (such as temperature/humidity via optional probes) at the rack level, functioning as an early-warning system for power or thermal problems. It is largely self-contained but is commonly deployed alongside standard IF-MIB/SNMPv2-MIB objects for basic device identification and uptime. Typical deployment context is remote/lights-out data center and telecom equipment rooms where staff need to remotely power-cycle servers or networking gear and track rack-level power consumption. Engineers can download the SLP1-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SLP1-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Lantronix SecureLinx Power Manager (SLP) smart PDU/power strip

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll the outlet control and status table (conceptually outletTable/outletEntry with objects like outletName, outletStatus, outletCurrent) to confirm which outlets are energized and how much current each is drawing. Combined with power metering objects (e.g., inputCurrent, inputVoltage), a sudden spike above a configured threshold would flag an overloaded circuit before a breaker trips. Environmental sensor objects would similarly be polled to catch rising rack temperature indicative of cooling failure.

What Can Be Monitored

  • outlet on/off state
  • per-outlet current draw
  • input voltage/current
  • overload/overcurrent alarms
  • environmental sensor readings
