All MIBs › SIP-MIB-SMI
Organization: IETF SIP Working Group, SIP MIB Team
Last Updated: 2000-07-08
Category: Enterprise SMI and Registration, IETF Standards MIBs, SIP and VoIP Protocol
Description: Defines the IETF SIP working group SMI root OID structure for SIP protocol MIBs.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SIP-MIB-SMI?
SIP-MIB-SMI is the standard IETF SIP Working Group Structure of Management Information module defining the base enterprise OID under which all other SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)-related MIB modules register their objects. It carries no data objects of its own — as a structural registration MIB it exists so companion SIP MIBs (e.g., SIP-COMMON-MIB, SIP-UA-MIB) can register consistent OIDs under the shared branch. It underlies devices implementing SNMP-managed SIP signaling. Engineers can download the SIP-MIB-SMI file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SIP-MIB-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Devices implementing SNMP-managed SIP signaling
Monitoring Examples
A MIB browser loads SIP-MIB-SMI automatically when parsing a companion SIP MIB module, resolving the OID branch those modules' objects are registered under.
