SALIX-MIB is the enterprise root MIB module for SALIX Technologies, defining the top-level OID hierarchy under which SALIX product MIB modules register their conformance groups and compliance statements (salixGroups, salixCompliances). As a root/conformance-oriented module, it primarily provides organizational structure and AGENT-CAPABILITIES-style grouping rather than exposing runtime data objects itself. It therefore carries no direct hardware or software status information such as uptime, temperature, or interface counters — that data would live in SALIX functional MIB modules that import this root and its groups/compliances. Other SALIX Technologies device MIBs depend on this module for enterprise OID assignment and conformance group definitions. It is deployed as the foundational MIB wherever SALIX Technologies equipment is managed via SNMP. Administrators who download the SALIX-MIB module alongside SALIX Technologies' product-specific MIBs will find it defines only these conformance groups, not data objects.

SALIX-MIB defines only salixGroups and salixCompliances conformance nodes plus the enterprise OID root, with no runtime data tables or scalars of its own. Actual device monitoring (e.g. interface or system status) would be found in other SALIX Technologies MIB modules that reference these groups and compliances. There is no direct polling scenario for this root/conformance module in isolation.
