What Is SILVERPEAK-SMI?

SILVERPEAK-SMI is a Structure of Management Information (SMI) module that registers the enterprise OID subtree for Silver Peak Systems, a vendor of WAN optimization and SD-WAN appliances; like other enterprise SMI modules, it defines no manageable objects itself and serves purely as the OID namespace root for Silver Peak's product-specific MIBs. It therefore exposes no interface, performance, configuration, or fault data on its own. A SILVERPEAK-SMI download is usually pulled in only as a prerequisite for compiling the vendor's functional MIBs, since this module itself carries no pollable content. It plays no direct role in monitoring uptime, CPU/memory, or hardware health; those capabilities would live in separate Silver Peak MIB modules built underneath this OID arc. Its only dependency is structural, anchoring subsequent Silver Peak MIBs to a registered enterprise number. It is encountered in MIB toolchains managing Silver Peak WAN optimization/SD-WAN appliances, not polled directly.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SILVERPEAK-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Silver Peak Systems WAN optimization/SD-WAN appliances, entire product line (base OID registration)

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no scalars, tables, or notifications -- only the enterprise OID registration under which actual Silver Peak monitoring MIBs are rooted. There is no direct polling scenario for SILVERPEAK-SMI itself; a monitoring tool would instead poll the specific Silver Peak MIB modules (WAN optimization stats, appliance health, etc.) that are numbered beneath this root.
