What Is SHELF-MIB?

SHELF-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for SAGEM ADR (Access and transmission) equipment, modeling the physical shelf/chassis structure of the device including slot layout, installed card inventory, and power distribution. Its data category is hardware inventory and status: which cards occupy which slots, what type each card is, and the health of the shelf's power feeds. Its monitoring purpose is squarely hardware status tracking, letting an administrator confirm that expected line/service cards are present and recognized in their slots and that shelf power distribution is functioning normally, which is critical on modular access/transmission shelves where a power or slot fault can take down multiple subscriber-facing circuits at once. It is part of SAGEM's broader ADR equipment MIB family and would work alongside interface- and service-specific MIBs covering the traffic carried by those cards. It is deployed in telecom access network sites using SAGEM ADR transmission/access shelf equipment. Engineers can download the SHELF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
