rdnIfCmtsUpChCtrExtReqNoise

Module: RDN-CMTS-MIB

OID (symbolic): RDN-CMTS-MIB::rdnIfCmtsUpChCtrExtReqNoise

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4981.2.2.28.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: Current count, from CMTS initialization, of contention request mini-slots for which no energy was detected on this upstream logical channel.This includes all contention mini-slots for IUC1 applicable to bursts that the CMTS detected but found as noisy. This is a 64 bit version of rdnIfCmtsUpChCtrReqNoise and will not be accessible to SNMPv1 managers. Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at reinitialization of the managed system, and at other times as indicated by the value of ifCounterDiscontinuityTime for the associated ifIndex.

What is rdnIfCmtsUpChCtrExtReqNoise?

Read-only Counter64, the extended-range counterpart of rdnIfCmtsUpChCtrReqNoise for contention request mini-slots classified as noisy; note the source DESCRIPTION text is internally inconsistent, opening with "no energy was detected" (copy-pasted from the NoEnergy sibling) but closing with "found as noisy" and confirming it's the 64-bit version of the Noise counter. Based on the object's own name and stated relationship to rdnIfCmtsUpChCtrReqNoise, admins should treat it as the noise counter, used on busy upstreams to avoid 32-bit counter wraparound.
