RBT-MIB is Riverbed Technology's enterprise MIB providing the base management framework for Riverbed Steelhead WAN optimization appliances. It establishes the top-level object registration structure (products) under which system status, performance, and optimization-related management objects for Steelhead devices are organized. Its intended monitoring purpose, based on its role as a base platform MIB, is to support visibility into appliance system status and performance characteristics relevant to WAN optimization, such as overall device health and optimization statistics, though the specific runtime objects live in more detailed sibling MIB modules that branch from this base. An RBT-MIB download by itself yields only the products registration branch, with the detailed status and optimization objects defined in the companion Riverbed MIBs that build on it. Other Riverbed-specific MIB modules depend on this base MIB for their OID registration and shared object structure. It is deployed in enterprise and data center WAN environments where Riverbed Steelhead appliances are used to accelerate and optimize wide-area network traffic.
