What Is ELFIQ-MODULE-COMMON-MIB?
ELFIQ-MODULE-COMMON-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Elfiq Networks, a WAN link load-balancing/SD-WAN appliance vendor, defining objects common across the whole Elfiq product line rather than one specific model. It exposes a system information table describing the device model and hostname plus firmware/software build details, and a generic notification framework shared by other Elfiq MIB modules. Its monitoring focus is software/hardware identity and status: systModel and systHostname identify the unit, systVersion/systRevision/systRelease/systBuild together give a precise firmware version fingerprint, and systTime confirms the device's system clock, all useful for verifying a device is running expected software and is time-synchronized. It acts as a shared base MIB that other Elfiq modules (link-balancing, failover) reference for common notification and system-identity objects. It is deployed on Elfiq Networks WAN link balancer/SD-WAN edge appliances in multi-ISP or multi-WAN-link business environments. Engineers can download the ELFIQ-MODULE-COMMON-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ELFIQ-MODULE-COMMON-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
What Can Be Monitored
- device model and hostname
- firmware version/revision/release/build
- system clock/time
- system notification/trap enablement
- device type description
Supported Devices
- Elfiq Networks WAN link balancer / SD-WAN edge appliances
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls systTable/systEntry (indexed by systIndex) to read systModel and systTypeDesc to confirm device identity, then checks systVersion, systRevision, systRelease and systBuild together to verify every appliance in a deployment runs the same certified firmware build. systHostname is checked against DNS/inventory records to catch misconfigured devices, and systTime is compared to NTP-synced time to catch clock drift that would otherwise skew event timestamps. commonNotification and systNotification indicate whether the device is configured to send SNMP traps for common system events.
