What Is RBN-AGENTX-CAP?
RBN-AGENTX-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module describing which parts of the SNMP Agent Extensibility Protocol (AgentX, RFC 2741/2742) are implemented by the SNMP master agent on Ericsson SmartEdge (formerly Redback Networks) routing platforms. As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module it defines no runtime data objects itself; instead it documents implementation conformance for the AgentX master-agent MIB, letting an NMS know which AgentX groups/objects are supported on a given software/hardware release. It has no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status -- no uptime, temperature, CPU, or fault data -- but is used at management-station configuration time to determine what can be polled through the AgentX master agent. It is explicitly a capabilities statement over the standards-track AgentX MIB and is tied to specific Ericsson SEOS software releases and product families (SmartEdge MSER, SM, SSR). It is deployed as part of the SNMP agent stack on Ericsson SmartEdge/SSR platforms wherever AgentX subagents are used. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the RBN-AGENTX-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RBN-AGENTX-CAP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty); it declares which AgentX MIB groups and objects are supported for a given SEOS release rather than exposing anything to poll. There is no monitoring scenario to describe beyond noting that an NMS or provisioning tool would consult this module to determine AgentX feature support before configuring subagent-based polling.
