Description: Manages local user accounts, group memberships, and password security policies.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is RADLAN-UUSC-MIB?
RADLAN-UUSC-MIB is a private Marvell/Radlan switch MIB that configures Unknown Unicast Storm Control (UUSC), a feature that rate-limits unknown-destination unicast traffic to prevent it from flooding and overwhelming the switch fabric. Per the module description and sample objects, it exposes a threshold rate and an enable/status flag scoped to a port-speed class (Fast Ethernet), rather than the broad user-account/security-policy objects suggested by its short description, which appears to be a mismatched label in the source catalog. As a traffic-protection feature, its monitoring relevance is about safeguarding switch stability: a storm-control status showing the control has engaged indicates the switch fabric was at risk of being overwhelmed by unicast flooding, a software/traffic-health signal rather than classic hardware telemetry. No explicit dependency on other MIBs is apparent beyond the switch's own port/interface model. It is typically deployed on access-layer switches in networks prone to unicast flooding, such as those with misconfigured devices or forwarding loops. Engineers can download the RADLAN-UUSC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RADLAN-UUSC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Marvell/Radlan-based managed switch
Monitoring Examples
rlUnknowUnicastStormCtrlFastEthernetRate configures the threshold rate above which unknown-unicast traffic on Fast Ethernet ports is rate-limited or dropped, and rlUnknowUnicastStormCtrlFastEthernetStatus shows whether storm control is currently enabled or actively engaged on those ports. An admin noticing rlUnknowUnicastStormCtrlFastEthernetStatus indicating the control has triggered would investigate for a flooding source or loop generating excessive unknown-destination unicast traffic on that segment.
What Can Be Monitored
- unknown unicast storm control threshold rate (Fast Ethernet)
- storm control enable/active status per port class
