What Is RADLAN-OSPF-LSDB-MIB?

RADLAN-OSPF-LSDB-MIB is a vendor-specific private MIB from RADLAN/Marvell that gives read access into a device's OSPF Link-State Database, exposing the raw Link-State Advertisements a router has learned. It defines tables such as rlOspfRouterLsaTable/Entry with fields for process ID, area ID, link-state ID, originating router ID, sequence number, age, checksum, and length. This is primarily a software/protocol-state monitoring tool: it lets an operator verify OSPF topology convergence, confirm an LSA hasn't gone stale (via rlOspfRouterLsaAge) or become corrupted (via a checksum mismatch), and detect routers missing from the expected topology. It extends and depends on the standard OSPF protocol and the concepts defined in the standard OSPF-MIB, providing vendor-specific detail beyond it. It is typically deployed on Marvell/RADLAN-based Layer 3 switches or routers running OSPF within an enterprise or service-provider network. Engineers can download the RADLAN-OSPF-LSDB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would walk rlOspfRouterLsaTable, keyed by rlOspfRouterLsaProcessId, rlOspfRouterLsaAreaId, and rlOspfRouterLsaLsid, to inspect rlOspfRouterLsaAge and rlOspfRouterLsaSequence for a given rlOspfRouterLsaRouterId, spotting an LSA that is aging toward MaxAge without being refreshed, which signals a router that has dropped out of the OSPF topology. rlOspfRouterLsaChecksum can also be compared to detect corrupted or stale link-state data.
