qbDot3ConfigLoopback

Module: QB-ETHERNET-MIB

OID (symbolic): QB-ETHERNET-MIB::qbDot3ConfigLoopback

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4323.2.5.1.2.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: QbDot3LoopbackType

Access: read-write

Description: The loopback configuration of this interface. If used in a set it will cause the agent to place the interface in the desired loopback mode. When read, it will return the interface's curretn loopback configuration.

What is qbDot3ConfigLoopback?

This read-write QbDot3LoopbackType value configures the loopback mode of the Ethernet interface; setting it places the interface into the desired loopback state, and reading it returns the interface's current loopback configuration, per the DESCRIPTION. Admins use it to isolate whether a fault is local to the device or out on the wire by looping the signal back internally for a test. For example, an admin would set qbDot3ConfigLoopback to enable an internal loopback while running a diagnostic test to confirm the port's electronics are functioning before suspecting the cable.
